OpenAI’s AI tool ChatGPT, which is currently a buzzword in the AI world, reportedly helps people to hold on to multiple jobs.
Workers’ experiences are linked to the trend of over employment, which began when workers took on secret jobs during the pandemic in order to take advantage of remote work. White-collar employees took on multiple jobs in order to increase their income.
Betty (name changed to maintain anonymity), said that she applied for a new job only after she realized she could utilize the AI tool while at work. Betty, who is based in Vancouver helps companies that market financial technology products. She said that ChatGPT helped her do her job more quickly and efficiently, giving her more time.
Betty further said that she got a second interview call after using the chatbot for her cover letter. She said that the release of GPT-4 – an updated version AI model underpinning ChatGPT – had made her job easier.
Betty said that she got her job only because of ChatGPT. “ChatGPT is 80% of my work if I am being honest.”
“I just have to tell it a story and it does it for you, based on context I give it.” she said that she needed to tweak her text from time to time.
Betty claimed that she used the bot to send messages to his manager. The bot wrote them in lowercase so as to appear more natural.
